We are back into the groove of things and are ready to move on from operations of fractions. Please note that if your last assessment will count as your grade. You will have the opportunity to re-assess if you feel the need to.
We are now going into grade level content skills and assessing if we have retained knowledge from the first weeks of school. Here is what each grade level is working on. 6th- The Coordinate Plane: Skills *Tell what point is located at each ordered pair. *Write the ordered pair for each given point. *Plot points on the coordinate plane. Good news! We have 100% mastery of locating points at each ordered pair. Writing ordered pairs and plotting points is another story, we will continue with some of these skills. The next skill we will be looking at is reflecting coordinates across the x and y axis once the other 3 skills are mastered. 8th- Rules of Exponents *Covering all---Application of zero power rule, powers to powers rule, negative exponent rule, product rule, and quotient rule. We will work on operations with these rules. This week, students are taking the iReady benchmark assessment. This will give us a better idea of what other skills students will need and we can address those needs in class.

This week we will be wrapping up operations of fractions for those that have not yet mastered the skills. If you have mastered all operations, I will continue to pull you into small groups to go over your grade level content to make sure you have understanding. We will be continuing to focus on fact fluency as well, so continue to get your green light on Reflex daily.
6th- continue numbers lines and coordinate plane 7th- continue rational and irrational numbers 8th- continue exponents |
